A new millennia and another comeback: Louis Van Gaal’s side had lost 3-1 at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Chelsea. Goals from Rivaldo and Figo gave Barça a 2-0 lead and hope but Tore-André Flo pulled one back for Gianluca Vialli’s side, adding to the two he scored in the first leg to swing the tie back in favour of the Londoners. A goal from substitute Dani sent the tie into extra-time and efforts from Kluivert and Rivaldo sealed the blaugranes’ place in the semis.
