He is an American professional football player. Michael Vick played quarterback at Newport News Warwick High School. He then moved on to Virginia Tech where he was named Big East Offensive Player of the Year and Big East Rookie of the Year in 1999. 

Vick’s mother obtained public financial assistance and had help from her parents, while his father worked long hours in the shipyards as a sandblaster and spray-painter.

Michael Dwayne Vick was born on 26th of June, 1980 in Newport News, Virginia. He was drafted #1 overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2001 NFL Draft. He played for the Falcons from 2001 to 2008 and for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2009 to 2013. 

His reputation was destroyed when his involvement in an illegal dog-fighting ring came to light in 2007. Vick later served two years in jail for committing what were proven to be horrendous crimes against animals.

Vick played for the New York Jets in 2014 and the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2015. He was a four time Pro-Bowl selection but after being a free agent in 2016 he officially retired in 2017. He became an analyst for the Fox Sports television series Fox NFL Kickoff on FS1 in 2017.

On Monday August 28th 2011, Michael Vick signed a 6-year $100 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. This new contract is included $40 million in guaranteed cash and worked out to an annual salary of $16.5 million. 

At this time, Vick was just the third athlete in professional sports history, joining Derek Jeter and Shaquille O’Neal, to sign more than one $100 million+ contract.
