He is an American professional football coach. Andy Reid went to John Marshall High School and worked as a vendor at Dodger Stadium as a teenager.

Reid played youth sports in East Hollywood at Lemon Grove Recreation Center, and among his coaches was Pete Arbogast, who is the radio announcer for the USC football team, and former radio play-by-play man for the Cincinnati Bengals. 

At the age of 13, he appeared live on Monday Night Football during the Punt, Pass, and Kick competition, he was already so large that he wore the jersey of Les Josephson (6’1″, 207 pounds).

Reid also played offensive tackle at Glendale Community College in Glendale, California, then at Brigham Young University from 1978 to 1980 where he was a teammate of Jim McMahon and Tom Holmoe.

He and his wife Tammy have been married since 1981. The couple had five children together. Unfortunately, their eldest son Garrett died from an accidental drug overdose in August 2012. Their other son ‘Britt’ is also a coach with the Chiefs.

Andrew Walter Reid was born in Los Angeles, California, USA on March 19, 1958. After he graduated from Brigham Young, he worked as an assistant coach and then served as an offensive line coach for multiple schools, including Northern Arizona University. 

He also became assistant coach for the Greenbay Packers in the early 90s. Reid was hired as the Head Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1999. 

Reid proceeded to coach the Eagles back from the one of the worst records in league history. Fortunately, they won the Eastern Division title four teams in a row between 2001 and 2004, and also made it to the conference championship game. 

The Eagles also won the NFC Championship in 2004, but lost in Super Bowl XXXIX. Reid coached the Eagles from 1999 to 2012. He later moved to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013. He is actually the longest-tenured Head Coach for an NFL team.
