He is an American UFC announcer. Bruce Buffer’s mother, Connie, is of Italian descent. At the age of 13, he went into martial arts and living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, studying judo and achieving the rank of green belt. 

At age 15, Buffer relocated to Malibu, California with his family and he befriended two of the students of Chuck Norris, who introduced him to Tang Soo Do, in which he holds a second degree black belt. He started kickboxing in his twenties but was forced to give the sport up at 32 after suffering his second concussion.

Bruce Anthony Buffer was born on the 21st of May, 1957 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His half brother is world-famous boxing announcer Michael Buffer. He alongside Michael own a company called ‘The Buffer Partnership’. Their grandfather was a famous boxer named Johnny Buff. Bruce was introduced as the ‘Veteran Voice of the Octagon’ at UFC events. 

He has gained recognition for his catchphrases and signature moves. Buffer is also a skilled poker player and has appeared on ESPN’s World Series of Poker Main Event and has also appeared on an episode of the TV series Poker After Dark. 

However,at the final table of the 2010 World Series of Poker, he announced the phrase ‘Shuffle up and deal!’. The Luxor Las Vegas poker room was named after him. Buffer has also starred in episodes of the TV series Friends and Entourage.

Buffer eventually earned a green belt in judo and a black belt in Tang Soo Do.
