He is an American college basketball coach. Coach K’s father was an elevator operator and his mother worked nights as a cleaning woman. He attended St. Helen School and went to the Archbishop Weber High School in Chicago. 

Coach K is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, in New York. He is married to Carol Marsh from Alexandria, Virginia and has three daughters, Debbie Savarino, Linda Frasher and Jaimie Spatola. They are also the proud grandparents of five grandchildren, Joey, Carlyn, Michael and Emelia Savarino and Quin Frasher.

Mike Krzyzewski was born on 13th of February, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, United State. He is best known as Coach K, the longtime coach of the Duke Blue Devils. He has also coached the US men’s Olympic team to gold medal victories in 2008, 2012 and 2016. 

He has been the head coach of Duke since 1980. As of May 2019, he has a record of 1,132 -344 which gives him a .767 winning percentage. 

Coach K has led the Blue Devils to more than 30 NCAA Tournament berths in the past three decades. Under his leadership, Duke has won five NCAA Championships, 12 final fours and 12 ACC regular season titles ‘as of 2019’. 

He also holds the record for most wins out of any coach in college basketball history. After the 2001 season, Coach K was inducted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall Of Fame.

From 1966 to 1969 he played point guard, shooting guard for the Army basketball team. He received the Distinguished Graduate Award from West Point in 2005. As captain of the Army basketball team he led them to the National Invitation Tournament, in New York’s Madison Square Garden. 

Coach K has gotten coaching offers from four NBA teams, Portland Trail Blazers, the L.A. Lakers, Boston Celtics and the New Jersey Nets. He has declined all offers for coaching positions for the NBA and had decided that Duke University is where he wants to remain. 

He has also been assistant coach and head coach of different U.S. teams as he led them to the FIBA World Championships, the FIBA Americas Championships, Goodwill Games, Summer Olympics and the Beijing Olympics.
