Born in Abilene, Texas, Parnell was raised in Stephenville, Texas. At age six, Parnell gave his first performance on Wills’s radio show. He played drums and guitar in varouy bands during his teenage years. In 1987, Parnell moved to Nashville, TN and signed with Arista Nashville recording Company two years later.
Career
In 1990, Parnell released a self-titled debut album under the aegis of Arista Records. This album produced three chart singles in “Oughta Be a Law”, “Crocodile Tears”, and “Family Tree”. However, none of the singles charted in the Top 40 on the Billboard country charts.
Parnell released a number of Albums between 1992 and 2006, namely: Love without mercy(1992), On the road(1993), We all get lucky sometimes (1995), Every night’s a Saturday night (1999), Hits and Highways ahead (1999), Tell the truth(2000), Back to the well(2006).
