Early Life

Paris is a great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels. She was born in New York City and grew up there and in Beverly Hills, California. Her modeling career started as a teenager when she signed with Trump Model Management, a New York-based modeling development agency. Paris’s mother, Kathy Hilton is a former actress and socialite; her father, Richard Howard “Rick” Hilton, is a businessman. Paris was raised in the Catholic faith.

Paris moved frequently in her youth, she lived in a suite in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills, Manhattan, and the Hamptons. As a child, she was friends with socialites Ivanka Trump, Nicole Richie, Kim Kardashian and actress Bijou Phillips.

Career

Paris Hilton’s career breakthrough as an actress came in 2003 when she starred in her very own reality show, ‘The Simple Life’. Her show ratings were extremely high as Paris was just freshly out of a sex-tape scandal.

Hilton launched her own lifestyle brand and designed a 10-piece line collection that was launched on Amazon.com for sale in 2004. She also authored her autobiography, ‘Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Behind the Pose’ and launched her fragrance line in the same year. 

Her second book, ‘Your Heiress Diary: Confess It All to Me’, was released in 2005 and she also launched her second line of perfumes, ‘Just Me’ in the same year. She was cast for the film, ‘House of Wax’ alongside Elisha Cuthbert and Chad Michael Murray.
‘The Simple Life’ was cancelled after having three successful seasons on Fox, following a fall-out between Hilton and Richie for unspecified reasons. However, the two reconciled the next year.

In 2006, a new season for ‘The Simple Life’ was produced and Paris decided to venture into the music world the same year. She debuted with a self-titled album, ‘Paris’. The album, became a huge hit, as against what the public believed it would be.

In December that year, she produced and starred in the movie, ‘National Lampoon’s Pledge This!’, the movie was released directly to video.

Paris, in 2007, released a hair extensions line called ‘DreamCatchers’. In 2008, she created ‘Little Lily’, a line for dogs. On September 30 the same year, she appeared in the reality show, ‘Paris Hilton’s My New BFF’, where she sought to make a new best friend. The series became a huge hit and the success led her to star in the cult film, ‘Repo! The Genetic Opera’. Also in this same year, she released another range of fragrance titled, ‘Fairy Dust’.

In October 2013, Hilton came up with the first single from her upcoming second studio album, “Good Time”. The single featured rapper Lil Wayne and it debuted on the US Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs chart at number 18.
