He is an American actor, director and producer. Ron Howard’s father was serving three years in the United States Air Force at the time of Ron’s birth. His family moved to Hollywood in 1958, the year before the birth of his younger brother Clint Howard.
They rented a house on the block south of the Desilu Studios, where The Andy Griffith Show was later filmed. They lived in Hollywood for at least three years, before moving to Burbank.
However, Howard was trained at Desilu Studios in his younger years but continued his schooling at Robert Louis Stevenson Elementary and David Star Jordan Junior High when not working in television, eventually graduating from John Burroughs High School.
He also attended the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts but did not graduate.

Ronald William Howard was born on 1st of March, 1954 in Duncan, Oklahoma. He rose to fame as Opie Taylor in the sitcom The Andy Griffith Show in 1959 at the age of 5.
His next memorable role would be his six-year stint as Richie Cunningham on the wildly popular sitcom Happy Days. In his early years, he also appeared in the film The Music Man ‘1962’, American Graffiti ‘1973’ and The Shootist ‘1976’.
He made his directorial debut in the 1977 comedy Grand Theft Auto and left Happy Days in 1980 to focus on directing. Today His films include Cocoon, Apollo 13, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and A Beautiful Mind, which earned Howard an Academy Award for Best Director, as well as Cinderella Man, The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons and Rush.
Howard conceived the idea for the Fox/Netflix series Arrested Development in 2002. He also served as producer and narrator and played a semi-fictionalized version of himself. In 2003, he was awarded the National Medal of Arts.
In October 2008, he showcased the world premiere of his film Frost/Nixon at the 2008 London Film Festival. He was the recipient of the Austin Film Festival’s 2009 Extraordinary Contribution to Filmmaking Award. Howard was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 2013.
