ISHK Tolaram Foundation Skills Acquisition Programme 2024.
Ishk Skills Hub provides access to quality skills training, internship opportunities and professional development through scholarships to underserved Nigerian youth to improve their ability to earn a livelihood.
Prospective participants, aged between 18 and 35, residing in or near Lagos, and holding at least a Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), Ordinary National Diploma (OND), or National Certificate in Education (NCE), are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be unemployed and seeking long-term employment, with a guarantor to vouch for them. Following the application, candidates undergo an interview process to determine their suitability for the program.
Once accepted, participants begin with soft skills training, focusing on personal effectiveness, leadership, character development, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. This foundational stage equips them with essential skills needed in the workplace. After completing the soft skills training, participants move on to specialized vocational training in fields such as carpentry and furniture making, fashion, masonry and tiling, and plumbing and pipefitting. This hands-on training is conducted in collaboration with partner institutes to ensure industry-relevant expertise.
Upon completing the vocational training, participants are placed in three-month internships to gain practical, on-the-job experience, which further enhances their employability. Graduates of the program also benefit from ongoing workshops and resources to support their continuous professional development and career advancement.
Since its launch, the program has enrolled over 1,178 students, with 915 successfully completing their training. Of these graduates, 606 have been placed in internships, 178 have secured employment, and 236 have started their own businesses. These impressive outcomes demonstrate the program’s effectiveness in promoting economic empowerment and addressing youth unemployment in Nigeria.

Requirements For The ISHK Tolaram Foundation Skills Acquisition Program
- Aged between 18-35 years
- Based in or near Lagos, Nigeria

- Once we receive your application, we will schedule a time and date to meet with you at Ishk Skills Hub so we can get to know you better
- If we find you suitable for our program, you will be enrolled to begin your training in leadership and personal effectiveness
- Once you complete Soft Skills training, you are ready to begin training in your chosen skill with our partner institutes
- After you complete vocational training, you will be placed at an internship for 3 months to receive on-the-job training
- After graduating from the program, alumni can access workshops and facilities to continue their professional development
