The Marcus Oldham College Scholarship is a scholarship scheme that is available to overseas students who will be enrolled as undergraduates at Marcus Oldham College during the academic year 2023-2024. A contribution of $15,000 from the Dr. Alastair Mackenzie International Scholarship Funds will be made towards the recipient’s tuition costs for the appropriate academic year as part of this scholarship.

The institution educates students on a variety of subjects, including but not limited to wool science and technology, wool farming, and textile manufacturing.
The Dr. Alastair Mackenzie Scholarship is made possible by the kind support of WISS Woolbrokers, a company that was established in 1979 by Woolgrowers. Woolgrowers own and run the business known as WISS, which is a wool broker. Other companies that provide financial support for students’ education include BJ Underwood Pty Ltd. and the Australian Wool Education Trust, and the Geoff & Helen Handbury Foundation.

- A statement of your Year 12 results and university ENTER score if applicable.
- Scholarship essay: Write a 500-word essay answering the following question: “In applying for this scholarship, you are indicating your interest in a career in the sheep and wool industry. What future activity in the industry do you wish to pursue?”
- College essay: Write a 100-word essay answering the question: “What are your career goals and aspirations?”

What to include for the Marcus Oldham College Scholarship in Australia
Your scholarship application must include:
- Your resume with the contact details of two referees
- A statement of your Year 12 results and university ATAR score if applied for.
- Scholarship Question/s totaling 500 words (unless identified specifically). These are located on each individual scholarship page under “Question’
Note: Applications can be submitted for more than one scholarship, but applicants can only receive one scholarship in any one academic year. If you are applying for more than one scholarship, one copy of your resume is sufficient.
Kindly Note:
Applicants have the option to apply for multiple scholarships, but they will only be granted one scholarship per academic year. If you are applying for multiple scholarships, including one copy of your CV and college essay is sufficient.
Once you submit your application, an acknowledgment of receipt will be sent to the email address provided in your CV.
Shortlisted applicants for an interview will be notified approximately three weeks prior to the interview date. Interviews will take place on campus at Marcus Oldham College on August 28, 2023. Please note that scholarship interviews are not conducted via Skype, Facetime, or phone, except for international applicants. In the event that no applicants meet the selection criteria, scholarships may not be awarded. The college also reserves the right to extend the closing and interview dates.
The successful applicant will receive a scholarship letter of offer and must notify the college in writing of their acceptance of the scholarship and their obligations as a recipient within seven days of receiving the written notification.
