Tips For Healthy Eating

Eating healthy is the best thing that anybody can do for himself, it is also not as difficult as most people think. All you have to do is, make sure the amount of calories you take in be the same as the one you are burning. If we eat and drink too much without much exercise, we put on weight. If we eat and drink too little, and we overwork ourselves we lose weight unhealthily.
My advice is for us to eat a balanced and healthy diet. The following is the key to a healthy and balanced diet.

Starchy Foods

Starchy foods include rice, cereals, bread. It is advised that one third of our meals contain starch. Unlike the popular belief, starch contains fewer calories than fat. Eating potatoes with their skins on makes you feel fuller. Starch is also the body’s primary source of energy. But starch in its refined form such as flour and instant rice, have lost all of their nutrients

Vegetable and Fruits

Fruits and vegetables have dietary fiber, and there has been reduced cases of cardiovascular disease and obesity for those who consume enough. They also contain phytochemicals that function as antioxidants and antiinflammatory agents.
No single fruit or vegetable contains all the nutrients to be healthy, that is why it is advised that we have a variety of fruits and vegetables everyday.

Fish

A great source of protein as well as minerals and vitamins.Fish also contains omega-3 fats, which helps to prevent heart diseases. I would advise you avoid canned and smoked fish as they are high in salt.

Eat Less Salt

There is still salt in our foods even if we don’t add salt to our food, we still may still be consuming enough salt. About three quarters of the salt we eat is already in our breakfasts soups bread and sauces. Too much salt can raise our blood pressure, leading to stroke and heart related diseases. Also, colon cancer is one of the side effects of too much salt in the body.

Exercise

conditions such as obesity is as a result of unhealthy eating and lack of exercise, this in turn could lead to other conditions such as type 2 diabetes, certain kinds of cancer. also , being underweight could be dangerous to our health. We all need to watch how much we eat and make sure we have enough exercise. Don’t forget, just taking a stroll is a form of exercise too.

Proper Hydration

Now don’t forget, exercise causes dehydration. We need about 3 litres of fluid every day to keep us hydrated.my suggestion is you stay away from fizzy and sugary drinks as they are high in calories and are very bad for our teeth. Water helps circulate water throughout the body, regulates body temperature and also helps flush body waste.
Stay away from excessive consumption of alcohol, unless you want to suffer from cancer of the breast, heart diseases and diseases lie stroke.
These few tips are very simple and can help you stay healthy and alive for a long time.
