It all culminated with Tina Turner confessing in her autobiography about the domestic violence happening outside public view.
Despite making a rare and highly-acclaimed cross over from soul to rock, Ike Turner needed something to quiet down his inner fire. The African-American musician spent much of the 1980s high on cocaine and crack, and even served seventeen months in jail for a related offense.
After staying clean an extended period, Turner relapsed decisively in 2007 and allowed cocaine to do its nasty part.
