2023 IOM Global Youth Ambassador Initiative for Migration Advocates.
The IOM Global Youth Ambassador Initiative is a concerted effort to empower and elevate the voices of young individuals, positioning them as influential change agents within the realm of migration. This initiative is grounded in the belief that by amplifying the perspectives and insights of youth, promoting safe and organized migration, and advocating for policies that actively involve young people, a more inclusive and sustainable future can be forged for everyone.
The core mission of the Migration Youth Ambassadors is to collaborate closely with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for a duration of one year. During this period, they will actively champion the cause of safe, orderly, dignified, and inclusive migration. This advocacy spans various critical issues, including climate-related mobility, combating human trafficking, addressing xenophobia, and ensuring health equity within migration contexts.
The Migration Youth Ambassadors are committed to empowering fellow young individuals within their communities. They strive to facilitate their active engagement in dialogues and discussions on migration and its associated challenges. By doing so, they contribute to fostering informed and constructive conversations while actively promoting youth participation in shaping migration-related policies and actions. Ultimately, the initiative aims to create a more just, compassionate, and equitable global landscape for all individuals affected by migration.
