The AKISAN Undergraduate Scholarship is an initiative by the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria, USA (AKISAN) to support academically outstanding students of Akwa Ibom State origin who are pursuing undergraduate studies in Nigerian universities. This scholarship program aims to provide financial assistance to deserving students, thereby enabling them to access quality education and achieve their academic goals.
AKISAN, through its scholarship program, seeks to identify and recognize promising students with demonstrated academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to community service. By awarding scholarships, AKISAN aims to empower these students to overcome financial barriers and pursue their education without hindrance.
The AKISAN Undergraduate Scholarship covers various aspects of the recipients’ educational expenses, including tuition fees, textbooks, accommodation, and other academic-related costs. Additionally, the scholarship program may also provide mentorship opportunities and other forms of support to help recipients succeed academically and professionally.

The AKISAN Scholarship Program is happily open to receiving applications from eligible students of polytechnic, colleges of education, and universities.
10 Akwa Ibom students currently studying in the USA will receive an awrd of $500, while 62 students from Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education will be awarded a cash prize of N100,000 each.
Applications are now welcome from all Akwa Ibom indigenes who are currently pursuing undergraduate degrees in recognized Nigerian tertiary institutions.
Benefits
The AKISAN Scholarship Program is awarded in two categories;
- $500 for 10 students studying in the USA
- N100,000 for 62 students studying in Nigerian iinstitutions.
Requirements For The AKISAN Undergraduate Scholarship
- Applicants must be indigenes of Akwa Ibom State.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a public institution of higher learning anywhere in Nigeria.
- Applicant must be Undergraduates students.
- Applicants must be registered for the semester in which the scholarship is granted.
- Applicant must have minimum GPA of 2.5 undergraduate or a High School GPA of 3.0 (on a 5.0 scale) for first-year undergraduates.
