The AKO Masters Scholarships are prestigious awards offered to exceptional students pursuing postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford. Established by philanthropist Nicolai Tangen through the AKO Foundation, these scholarships aim to support talented individuals who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their fields and communities.
The AKO Masters Scholarships cover full tuition fees and living expenses for the duration of the master’s program, allowing recipients to focus on their studies and research without financial burden. In addition to financial support, scholars benefit from access to the University of Oxford’s world-class academic resources, research facilities, and expert faculty members.
The scholarships are open to students from any country and any academic discipline offered at the University of Oxford. Applicants are selected based on their academic achievements, leadership qualities, extracurricular activities, and potential to contribute to their chosen field and society at large.
Recipients of the AKO Masters Scholarships become part of a vibrant community of scholars and alumni who are committed to driving positive change and advancing knowledge and innovation in their respective fields. They are encouraged to engage in academic and extracurricular activities, participate in leadership development programs, and contribute to the intellectual and cultural life of the university.
The AKO Masters Scholarships offer a transformative opportunity for outstanding students to pursue postgraduate studies at one of the world’s leading universities. By investing in the education and development of talented individuals, the AKO Foundation aims to empower future leaders who will make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.
The Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science (PBS) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is a vibrant community of scholars, researchers, and students dedicated to exploring the complexities of human behavior within societal contexts. Renowned for its innovative and impactful research, PBS conducts cutting-edge studies that bridge theory and practice, offering insights into real-world issues.
In the academic year 2024/25, PBS is proud to announce the availability of scholarship opportunities generously funded by the AKO Foundation. These scholarships, consisting of two full scholarships covering fees and stipends, as well as eight tuition fee-only scholarships, aim to support talented individuals seeking to pursue advanced studies in psychological and behavioural science at LSE.
The programs offered by PBS provide students with a robust foundation in core theories of social psychology and behavioural science, while also allowing for specialization in specific areas of interest. Through rigorous coursework and hands-on research experiences, students are empowered to develop the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to make meaningful contributions to their fields.
Applicants for these scholarships are expected to articulate how their studies at LSE will equip them to engage in societal impact activities in their home regions upon completing their degrees as LSE alumni. By demonstrating a commitment to driving positive change and applying their knowledge to address real-world challenges, scholarship recipients exemplify the ethos of PBS and LSE as institutions dedicated to fostering global citizenship and social responsibility.
