The 2024 Auckland Law School postgraduate scholarship awards in New Zealand are now available to all outstanding and academically motivated students who wish to further their study in Law.
Auckland Law School Postgraduate Scholarship 2024
The Auckland Law School Postgraduate Awards aim to reward and promote academic success among Auckland Law School Master’s degree students. These scholarships are available for the following study programs: Master of Laws, Master of Legal Studies, and Master of Taxation Studies are all available.
Each academic year, the application deadlines for these grants are January 30th and June 30th. Each grant is worth over NZ$10,000 and is meant to help with the costs of studying at the University. There are up to five awards available, with each award valid for one year.
Auckland Law School developed these awards to encourage and support outstanding students pursuing a Master’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, or Taxation Studies.

Application Process
How to apply for the Auckland Law School Postgraduate Scholarship Awards
To apply for this grant, applicants must prepare the following documents for approval:
- Copies of your official university transcripts: These should include the grades for all courses you have completed. If your application is successful, you may be asked to provide physical copies of your transcripts before the awards are confirmed.
- Current CV: Your CV should include your educational background, work experience, relevant skills, and any other pertinent information. Additionally, provide the names and contact details of two academic referees who can provide references on your behalf.

Selection Criteria
The awards will be made by the Dean of Law (or their nominee), upon the recommendation of a selection committee.
The awards will be made on the basis of academic merit.
Please note that students who have been offered an award must meet all requirements for admission into one of the University of Auckland’s law postgraduate degree programs in order to take up the award offer.
It is a requirement that the awardee(s) must enroll and begin their studies in the semester immediately following the award of the Postgraduate Law Award.
In exceptional circumstances, applicants may obtain approval from the Dean of Law for a deferred commencement date.

The Auckland Law School Postgraduate Awards aim to provide substantial financial assistance to the recipients by covering a significant portion of their expenses. Each award is valued at NZ$10,000 and is available to a total of five eligible applicants, regardless of their status as international or domestic students.
