Merit-based Undergraduate Scholarship
Each student applying for the NAU will be considered for these scholarships without having to apply separately. These scholarships provide students with four-year funding if the student meets the minimum renewal criteria.
Students interested in attending Northern Arizona State University often wonder how to best fund their university education. What students may not be aware of is that there are a number of funding mechanisms designed to make their NAU higher education more affordable.
One of the best ways to find scholarships for NAU is to start by completing the FAFSA application. This form quickly tells students if they qualify for state or government funding. In addition to the FAFSA diploma, students can apply for a specific scholarship at the NA.
List of Northern Arizona State University Scholarships
- Merit-based Undergraduate Scholarship
Each student applying for the NAU will be considered for these scholarships without having to apply separately. These scholarships provide students with four-year funding if the student meets the minimum renewal criteria.
To be considered, applications must be submitted to the University by May 1st. This award is only available to full-time students. The exact minimum score varies depending on the scholarships. Students will find on this site a complete list of merit scholarships available to new students.
- NAU Foundation Scholarships
These NAU scholarships are open to students from different backgrounds. For example, Graduate College funds many of these awards. The Louis H. and Betty W. Quayle Scholarship is open only to US university students.
Another grant, the Olson Family Foundation Scholarship, provides financial support to students of Hispanic or Native American descent who have at least 4.0 on average. For more information on these awards and other grants from the NAU Foundation, click here.
To apply for these NAU scholarships, students must submit an application form by the January 25 deadline. Candidates will contact the students who will receive the scholarship in March.
- Faculty & Staff Tuition Assistance
You want to participate in the NAU, but you can not pay the tuition fees. So consider working at NAU! Employees and staff working at Northern Arizona State University receive free tuition for themselves or their dependent children.
There are three application deadlines: July 1 for the fall semester, December 1 for the winter and spring semesters, and April 15 for the summer semester. More information on this program is available on this scholarship link.
- Transfer Tuition Scholarships
ThThe NAU offers a number of scholarships to students moving from one institution to another. Only students who have obtained their first degree are eligible for these scholarships.
In addition, the applicant must plan to enroll on a full-time basis and acquire a minimum number of credits per year to advance to the next level (usually requiring 30 credits per year).
The minimum score required varies depending on the scholarship. Only courses taken for the first time are counted in the average grade of students. Thus, students who have to repeat a course will not have the second grade calculated in their GPA. Additional information can be found here.
