When it came time to promote the third movie in the original Star Wars trilogy, Return of the Jedi, Rolling Stone magazine enlisted the help of Carrie Fisher, skimpy Princess Leia costume and all. The photo-shoot took place on a beach in California and the results were particularly pleasing to the magazine’s mainly male audience. Return of the Jedi would turn out to be the last time fans would see Fisher tackle the iconic role of Leia until she made her return in 2015’s The Force Awakens.
