After The Storm – Children In Paris In 1949

The Nazi occupation of France lasted from 1940 to 1944. When the Allies finally beat the Nazis back following the D-Day Invasion of Normandy, Paris was soon liberated, and the citizens of that city could start to rebuild their lives and get back to some semblance of normality. Here we see two children enjoying each other’s company in the street in Paris in 1949. It’s a far cry from the days when the streets of the city were patrolled by members of the Wermacht and the Gestapo.
