Benefits of Drinking Water

The body needs water to function properly, this could be as a result of the fact that water makes up to 70% of our body mass, including skin, tissues and cells.

In this article, I am going to state some more reasons why we all should make drinking water a ritual.

Fluid Balance

Up to 60 percent of the body is made up of water. Drinking enough water maintains the body’s fluid balance and this helps carry nutrients around the body, food digestion, helps in managing body temperature and more.

 

Muscle Fuel

When you are doing the hard work and you are sweating, your muscle tends to lose water, if there isn’t enough water in your muscles, they get weak. Drinking enough water when you are sweating ensures your muscles carry you through your work.

 

Calorie Control

Water as well as other diet tricks, helps in weight loss. It has been found that you get to lose a few pounds if you drink enough water.

Studies have also shown that 30 percent to 59 percent of U.s adults who are on a weight loss program take plenty of water. This even works more when you drink cold water, when you take cold water, your body uses extra calories to warm the water up to room temperature.

There are also claims that drinking water before a meal reduces appetite, which in turn reduces calorie intake leading to weight loss.

 

Clearer Skin

Some toxins in the body can cause the skin to swell, which can lead to blocked pores and acne. Even Though water does reduce the risk of pimples and cleanses the system of toxic properties, it doesn’t make the skin wrinkles free as some studies would claim. So it is no fairy tale that water cleanses the body.

 

Kidney Function

The kidney plays an important role in how our body functions, it processes our blood daily, helping the kidney transport waste out of our body as urine through the bladder, it also keeps our blood vessels open so blood can travel freely through our kidneys delivering very important nutrients to them. 

It will be very difficult for the kidneys to carry out all these functions and dehydration can cause serious kidney damage. So as someone who loves to work hard and exercise,  drink a lot of water.

 

Efficiency Boost

Enough water in your body helps in alertness, increased productivity and very refreshing. so every morning before you start your day, do not forget to have at least a glass of water.

 

Brain Boost

There’s been some claims that students who bring water into the exam hall perform better and have better grades, researchers have associated their good performance with drinking enough water. Even though this has not been proven, it does no one no harm to try.

 

We really don’t know how much water we should take each day, but studies have shown that adults can take up to 12 glasses of water a day. But it all depends on our activity level, how old we are.

A quick tip on staying hydrated; drink a glass of every morning when you wake up and some minutes before every meal, Make you are always close to water. With these simple tips you are sure to have a very healthy lifestyle.
